Thought of the day:
Guys had a common excuse, to skip work, classes, dates etc."We're SICK, as the World Cup FEVER is on... "Gals, on the other hand, who do not know the art of football, and who are missing their soap dramas on TV, have something to say...
We're SICK of football, as the World Cup FEVER is on!

The English Team in The Last Supper, feat. David Beckham as Cheesus Crust
We've had enough of Da Vinci Code. 090606, that's when the footie fever began. People here, in the Far East, are having sleepless nights just to catch the live matches on TV. They don't care if they are late for work, unable to concentrate on the next day blablablabla... The once-in-four-year event has an inevitable attraction to keep people glued to their TV sets.
So far, some of the matches have been breathtaking, while some are just plainly boring. Some underdogs like Ivory Coast, Ecuador and Trinidad & Tobago really stunned their opponents, although the results did not do justice for Ivory Coast.
England, the team I support, had a disappointedly boring game. Apart from the anti-Crouch, GodofGambler-fanatic referee (he must have bet on Paraguay!), the most spectacular action of the game would be
Paul Robinson's clearance, which had strucked the 4-sided screen suspended under the roof of the stadium. Other than that, the match was really dull.

The Mexican Referee vs The God of Gambler
I'm not going to write about every single game. A lot of match reports can be found elsewhere. But here are some highlights to share:
The Failed Attempt to Remake "The Hand of God": Alexander Frei a.k.a. The Hand of Dog of Switzerland, who had a disallowed goal along with a yellow card, in the game against FranceThe Best Comeback: The Socceroos came back from behind to beat Japan 3-1. The 3 goals were scored in 8 minutes~! Incredible...The Football Club that produced the most goal scorers in the World Cup: Chelsea(Crespo, Drogba, Robben)A country that a lot of people didn't aware of before the World Cup: Togo... Togo to go for a win in the next match? The National Anthem that was played twice in a game: South Korea... Poor Togo, who had their anthem mistaken for that of South Korea. People are still not aware of Togo...The Team that Played @ Home Away From Home: South Korea. The stadium was surrounded by red shirts. It looked as though as they were playing in their homeland... No wonder their national anthem was played twice. The first team in World Cup history to win eight successive matches in the finals: Brazil, after beating Croatia 1-0
